Hasn’t August been a funny month? Now that we are finally able to leave the house the weather has decided to fast forward three months, leaving a very bleak outdoor situation, and rendering pointless any last-minute holiday plans anyone made in the UK.
Nonetheless, I spent a very eventful month preparing for university as little as I humanly could. While watching Hugh Grant films and reading books about wildflowers on the possibility someone one day ask me a question on the matter. Although by then I will have forgotten everything I read.
Dog sitting and visiting my father for the first time since lockdown has also kept me occupied. My local cinema celebrated their reopening by re-releasing many classics, Goodfellas, Back to the Future, Harry Potter and most enjoyably The Lord of the Rings Extended Trilogy were all outings that kept me adequately distracted from anything important.
As far as summers have gone, it could have been worse, I will now be looking forward to starting university in September. Covid-19 allowing.
