August 2021

As you all know, I have neglected my blog for a while! What can I say, life just got in the way.
At the beginning of the year I set myself a target of an article every week, although sometimes that has turned into 4 articles a month and no doubt it will end up with me writing tens of articles in the last week of the year.

So what did I do in August?

Pursuit is still in post production. Its funny how all film students think we’ll have endless time to work on projects when we don’t have uni work to do, but it turns out we’ll have even less time when our summer jobs get involved.

It’s been strange to live in Cardiff with most people I know moving elsewhere for the summer, Covid is still rampaging the planet so international travel isn’t really much of an option as chances are wherever I’ll go I’ll spend the whole holiday in a lockdown.

So I’ve just been working and going to the cinema when I can! I’ve been lucky to see some good films, watching Jaws with my cousin or Shang Chi with my friend Arwen! Its the small things you need to appreciate. One strange evening being spent watching Off The Rails followed by The World to Come. Two films that couldn’t be more different from one another.

It has been a month of unusual cinema trips actually, only recently I went to see a 9pm film, with only 11 of us in the audience, I was surprised and confused to see 6 people in business attire stand up and leave during the trailers. To this day I cannot figure out the context of such an action.

I’m looking forward to getting back to uni and getting a lot of film work done!

That’s all there was to my life during August.

All the best

Alexander
