“Will Family Ties Overcome the Pain of the Past?”

After the Wake is a short Drama film about two siblings reconnecting after the untimely death of their mother.

After the Wake was inspired by British kitchen sink dramas, although explores less social inequality and more familial inequality. It asks the question of what might happen when someone from a toxic family can create her own happier family, and what happens when she is no longer around to protect said happiness.

After The Wake follows two siblings Darius & Skye, who haven’t spoken since their mother’s funeral. It soon become apparent that under the influences of outside forces, they are forgetting the importance they both hold to eachother.
