Isn’t January always a waste of a month? Even when the world isn’t in crisis mode, January really does not live up to the New Year, New Me! Hype.
I believe that civilisation however; has collectively agreed to dispense with the New Year routines and resolutions in exchange for desperately hoping things don’t get much worse.
Its been a big month for me though! I finally found the secret to waking up early. I set an alarm which I keep next to my laptop, then at 06:00 I switch my alarm off and a film on.
My past mistakes include waking up early in order to exercise, study or otherwise deal with being alive. But by the time I’ve finished watching David Bowie in character as The Goblin King (Labyrinth Article coming soon) I am just able to face the day ahead.
Slightly less exciting news; I finished my latest film. A short documentary directed by Ellis Beynon about a Baptist Pastor based in Merthyr Tydfil.
Producing this piece of work was an amazing experience, mostly because Matthew Tricker is a really nice guy and incredibly interesting. More importantly he didn’t mind us turning his chapel into a film set for the day.
Please give it a watch and let me know what you think!
Otherwise though, January has been a quiet month. The course starts up again this week and I’ll be producing two more films with the University of South Wales. Something I’m incredibly excited to be doing.
Hope you’re all staying safe and keeping well!
